Frank Alexander, M.B.A., is not your typical abstract artist.
After a distinguished career as the Director of Executive Briefing Programs at Diebold World Headquarters spanning over 18 years, he gracefully transitioned from the corporate world to the world of academia. Formerly lending his expertise as an instructor at Kent State Stark, Stark State College, Malone University, as well as currently substituting in Hudson School District, Frank brings a unique blend of business acumen and artistic flair to his students.
Holding a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a minor in Secondary Education from the University of Findlay, and a Master's in Business Administration from Ashland University, Frank's academic background provides a solid foundation for his diverse pursuits. When the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic altered the course of daily life, Frank embraced the opportunity to channel his energy into a newfound passion for abstract art. With an emphasis on exploring the interplay between geometric shapes of various forms and sizes, he embarked on a creative journey that yielded a captivating collection.
For Frank, each shape carries its own symbolic significance. Circles, in his view, represent continuity, never ceasing. Squares, on the other hand, are sharply defined, coming to an abrupt halt at each corner. Triangles, with their pointed structure, always "get to the point." Other shapes, he observes, take on their natural forms and gracefully flow with the connections they forge.
Utilizing re-purposed mat boards, Sharpie color markers, and frames Frank's artistic process is as unique as the pieces themselves. Rolling up his sleeves and adopting a "design as you go" approach, he created the collection on display today – a testament to the unrestricted flow of creative expression.
In a gesture of generosity, a percentage of proceeds from all sales are dedicated to the Alzheimer's Fund Raiser and the Akron-Canton Regional Food Bank.
As you explore his collection, remember that all prices are negotiable, marking an inventory reduction sale – an opportunity to bring a piece of Frank's distinctive abstract art into your life. The artworks are intentionally left untitled, allowing each viewer the freedom to assign their own titles and interpretations. Enjoy!
